What to expect from the A1.1 course
This is the first of two A1 courses. It will provide you with a strong foundation in Portuguese, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Greet and say goodbye
Introduce yourself and others
Ask for and provide personal information
Express opinions about others
Describe relationships between people
Identify places, objects, and people
Ask for and give directions, describe routes, and discuss transportation
Interact in shops, cafés, and other commercial settings
Understand menus and order food at a restaurant

What to expect from the B1.1 course
This is the first of two B1 courses. It is designed to consolidate and expand your Portuguese knowledge at the intermediate level. The course focuses on strengthening your grammar, enriching your vocabulary, improving your pronunciation, and developing your ability to express more complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Participate in conversations on familiar and routine topics
Express feelings, preferences, and opinions in greater detail
Narrate past experiences and describe future plans
Give advice, suggestions, and instructions
Describe events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions
Handle most situations likely to arise when travelling
Follow the main points of clear standard speech on familiar subjects
Understand written texts on topics of personal or professional interest
Write simple connected texts on familiar themes
Express agreement, disagreement, and contrast
Talk about routines, habits, and changes over time
Describe situations using appropriate time markers
Use a variety of tenses in context (present, past, future, conditional)
Engage in discussions about daily life, work, culture, and current events
What to expect from the Conversational B1.1 course
The B1 level marks the beginning of independent language use in Portuguese. In this course, students will develop the ability to communicate more fluently and effectively in everyday situations.
During the course, students will describe experiences and events. They will briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. They will narrate a story or relate the plot of a book or film and describe their reactions.
