What to expect from the A1.1 course

This is the first of two A1 courses. It will provide you with a strong foundation in Portuguese, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Greet and say goodbye
Introduce yourself and others
Ask for and provide personal information
Express opinions about others
Describe relationships between people
Identify places, objects, and people
Ask for and give directions, describe routes, and discuss transportation
Interact in shops, cafés, and other commercial settings
Understand menus and order food at a restaurant
Talk about eating habits
Make, accept, and decline invitations
Express and ask for opinions
Talk about and ask questions about daily activities
Ask for and tell the time
Discuss leisure activities
Describe and compare places
Understand short advertisements
Express reasons and justifications
Talk about needs and obligations
Express likes and preferences
Describe actions in progress

What to expect from the B1.1 course

The B1 level marks the beginning of independent language use in Portuguese. In this course, students will develop the ability to communicate more fluently and effectively in everyday situations, understanding and producing more complex sentences than at previous levels.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

 Take part in conversations on familiar topics with greater confidence

 Clearly report past events using a range of verb tenses

 Understand simple informative and news texts

  Write messages, notes, and short reports with appropriate structure

  Make requests, give advice, and offer suggestions clearly and appropriately
